Her paternal grandparents were Harlen Harvey and Ruth Chew; her maternal grandparents were George Washington DOAN and Elizabeth RARIDEN. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Amos, James Elwood, Miles Newton, Emma A. and Elizabeth Ellen. She was the second youngest of the six children.-
