Peter was born on August 6th, 1768 in Orange Co., NC. Peter's father was Zacharias Dicks and his mother was Ruth Hiatt. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Dicks and Deborah Clark; his maternal grandparents were George Hiatt and Martha Wakefield . He had a brother and six sisters, named Nathan (Dix), Deborah, Martha, Esther, Lydia, Ruth and Mary. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 42 in 1810.General Notes
