Her paternal grandparents were John Anderson DOAN and Lucretia Evalaine BLAND ; her maternal grandparents were Allison Monroe "Allen" HICKS and Mary Ann "May" OLIVER. She had four brothers and a sister, named Bruce Ray, Herman Quincy (Sr) , Leroy Virgil, Orvel Eugene and Mary Lucille. She was the second youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 50 on August 18th, 1965 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN.General Notes
