Solomon was born on June 1st, 1804 in Guilford Co., (Now Chatham) NC . Solomon's father was John DIXON and his mother was Ruth Dicks. His maternal grandparents were Zacharias Dicks and Ruth Hiatt. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Zachariah , Thomas Elwood , Ruth , Levina and Amy . He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Mary .-
