Susan was born in 1828 in VA. Susan's father was John CART and her mother was Suzanna (Susan) DAUGHTERY. Her paternal grandparents were Willhelm CART (Karg) and Maria Catharina Heppenheimer; her maternal grandparents were Henry DAUGHTERY and Anne EDGAR. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Henry (Carte), William , George , John, Elizabeth , Sara , Rebecca and Julia Ann. She was the second youngest of the nine children.-
