Rufus Jefferson was born on March 28th, 1845 in Randolph Co., AL. Rufus Jefferson 's father was Alexander P. BOYD and his mother was Sarah Ann HINTON. His paternal grandparents were John BOYD and Eleanor UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were UNKNOWN HINTON and Elizabeth McDOUGALD. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William James, John D. , Robert Alexander , Joseph A. , Elisha H., Elizabeth C. , Sarah A. "Sally" and Martha B.. He was the fourth youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 73 on March 12th, 1919 in Bakersfield, Kern Co., CA.General Notes
