Permit was born in 1804 in VA. Permit's father was John BLAND and his mother was Sarah E. LEE. His paternal grandparents were Osborne BLAND and Letitia (Lettice) "Lettie" HAMBRICK . He had three brothers and four sisters, named Abraham , James Lee , Zarariah, Hannah , Elizabeth , Rachel and Mary Lee . He was the second oldest of the eight children.-
