His paternal grandfather was John George Sharp; his maternal grandparents were John Ashcraft and Charity Beeson. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Uriah, Elijah, Thomas, Aaron, William, Elizabeth, Charity, Susannah, Rhoda and Sarah. He died after 1858 in Roane, VA.-
