Gertrude of Saxony 
Gertrude was born in 1028 in of Schweinfurt, Unterfranken, Bavaria.1 Gertrude's father was Bernhard II of Saxony Duke of Saxony and her mother was Elika von Schweinfurt. Her paternal grandparents were Bernhard I of Saxony Duke of Saxony and Hildegarde von Stade; her maternal grandparents were Henry von Schweinfurt Ct de Schweinfurt and Gerberge von Henneberg. She had a brother and a sister, named Ordulf of Saxony and Ida of Saxony. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 85 on August 4th, 1113.1 General Notes
