Her paternal grandparents were Roger de Montgomerie le sn de Montgomerie and Josceline de Pont-Audemer; her maternal grandparents were Guillaume II Talvas sn de Alençon-Bellême and Hildeburg de Alençon. She had three brothers and a sister, named Robert de Bellême, Roger "Poitevin" de, Arnulf and Sibyl. She was the oldest of the five children.
