John Spinks Sowell 
John Spinks was born on November 20th, 1852.1 John Spinks' father was Upshur Furr Sowell and his mother was Julie Ann Hunsucker. His paternal grandparents were Jason Sowell and Rebecca Furr; his maternal grandparents were George Thomas Hunsucker and Martha Wood. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Alfonzo, Robert, Carrie Bell, Hester Jane and Mattie Jane. He was the second oldest of the six children.General Notes
