Wilhelm Keng 
Wilhelm was born in 1834.1 Wilhelm's father was Friedrich Wilhelm Keng and his mother was Florentine Wilhemine Amalie Erfling. His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Wilhelm Keng and Maria Sophie Prante. He had three brothers and a sister, named Friedrich Wilhelm, August, Herman Adolf and Pauline. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 60 on December 28th, 1894.1 General Notes

Wilhelm Keng of Washington County fought in Company G, 4th Regiment of
the Texas Calvary in the Civil War. This company was und er the
leadership of Capt. Marinus Van Der Heuvel. This company had a large
number of German names, Wilhelm was number 38 on the roster.
This informatio n is found in Early History of Fayette Co. by Weyand and
Wade.
Also Ann Mont gomery listed him as a bugler in Greens Brigade. Check on
all this.
