Emily Cassandra was born on March 12th, 1895 in Mayflower, Arkansas.1 Emily Cassandra's father was Uriah Gillam Dickins and her mother was Mary Francis Polk. Her paternal grandparents were Uriah Dickins and Susannah May; her maternal grandparents were John Polk and Louise Strickland. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named George Warren, John Uriah, William Alexander Campbell, Thomas Marion C, Tavner Tidings, Judson Milton, Harvey Louis, Charles Oklahoma, Alice Elderado, Martha Susan, Mary Frances and Maggie Maude.
