Notes for ISAAC BUCHANAN:
Isaac Buchanan, son of Thomas and Jenny Neely Buchanan, was born in
Kentucky in 1803; died 1863 and buried at Cane Hi ll,
Ark. In the same cemetery is a triple stone marking the graves of their
three sons, Pleasant, James and William, all of whom
were killed on same day d uring the Civil War, 21 February 1864. This
family suffered much during Civil War. Six of their sons
were in Confederate Army and their home was burned by Federal soldiers.
Isaac, the father, was shot in the back after giving
food to Pin Indians who came to his home in 1863. Naomi and lsaac were
charter mem bers of Cumberland Presbyterian
Church at Cane Hill.
