Henry de Percy II was born in Alnwick, Northumberland.1 Henry de Percy II's father was William de Percy IV Baron Percy and his mother was Eleana de Baliol. His paternal grandparents were Henry de Percy Baron Percy and Isabel le Brus; his maternal grandparents were Ingelram de Baliol Lord Redcastle and daughter de Berkeley. On the Percies: The founder of the family was a Danish chieftain,
Manfred, who died in 880. His son, Galfred, was a general of Rollo 's in
Normandy. The next of importance would be William, who came with the
Conqueror , and who was the first Lord Percy. He died in 1097. The
descendant s of his son, Alan, founded the Percies of Heyshott and
William's son, Richar d, founded the Percies of Dunsley. Of the Children
of William II, only daught ers survived and of these only one had
children. She married Josceline de Lo vain, brother of Adeliza, second
wife of Henry II. Josceline changed his nam e to Henry de Percy and the
line continued.

"History of the House of Percy" lis ts his wife as Eleanor Plantagenet,
but if you go back several paternal gener ations this Eleanor de Warren is
descended from hamelin Plantagenet, but Hame lin's children mostly took
their mother's surname. Complete Peerage shows hi s wife as Alianore
Plantagenet, but as the daughter of John de Warren, as I h ave it.
