Agnes de Percy was born in 1134 in of Northumberland.1 Agnes de Percy's father was William de Percy III Baron Percy and her mother was Alice de Clare. Her paternal grandparents were William de Percy II Baron Percy and Alice de Ros; her maternal grandparents were Richard FitzGilbert de Clare Lord Clare and Alice de Gernons le Meschines. She was an only child. She died at the age of 71 in 1205. She was buried in Inheritance divided between her & her sister Maud, Easter 1175..1 1 General Notes

On the Percies: The founder of the family was a Danish chieftain,
Manfred, who died in 880. His son, Galfred, was a general of Rollo 's in
Normandy. The next of importance would be William, who came with the
Conqueror , and who was the first Lord Percy. He died in 1097. The
descendant s of his son, Alan, founded the Percies of Heyshott and
William's son, Richar d, founded the Percies of Dunsley. Of the Children
of William II, only daught ers survived and of these only one had
children. She married Josceline de Lo vain, brother of Adeliza, second
wife of Henry II. Josceline changed his nam e to Henry de Percy and the
line continued.
