Obituary - Wanda Hermina Kappler was born on August 1, 1910 to Hermann
August Lehmann and Emma Lhemann nee Pietsch in Greens Creek, Texas. On
August 7, 1910 she was baptized in Bethany Lutheran Church of Greens
Creek by Rev. G. Buchschacher. She was confirmed in the Christian faith
on April 17, 1924 in Bethany Lutheran Church of Greens Creek by Rev.
Theodore Kilian. On August 26, 1928 Wanda Hermina Lehmann and Edward
William Kappler were married by Rev. A. E. Moebus in Trinity Hill
Lutheran Church of La Grange, now Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
On Saturday, June 11, 1994 our dear Lord took Wanda Kappler home, at the
age of 83 years, 10 months and 10 days. Mrs. Kappler is survived by two
sons and daughters-in-law, Edmund L. and Annie Mae Kappler and Ruben and
Donna Kappler, both of La Grange; by two sisters, Erna Hammann, of San
Rafael, California, and Gladys Von Minden, of La Grange; by three
brothers, Anton Lehmann, of La Grange, Edwin Lehmann, of Conroe, and
Herman Lehmann, of Dallas; by five grandchildren, Wayne Kappler, of
Warda, Susan McMahon, of Comfort, Karen Kappler, of San Antonio, Anne
Seidensticker, of Kerrville, and David Kappler, of Bryan; and by three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, two
brothers and one grandson. Burial will be in the La Grange City Cemetery.
