About 1893 moved with his family to Texas. Attended Texas Military
Institute. First Lieutenant (Aviation) in World War I, administrative
capacity. He served all summer of 1918 at the front. In the fall he was
sent to Western France to help build hospitals, as he was an engineer.
After the Armistice his wife was notified that he was dead. Returning to
America on a cruiser, he read his own death notice in The New York Times,
and promptly sent a message that the notice was premature.
He was an engineer, and a newspaperman. Wrote the book, Friend Jasper
(Naylor, 1936?). Religion: Episcopalian (and strongly anti-Catholic).
Politics: Liberal Democrat. Owned his home, 133 Harvard Terrace, San
Antonio, Texas.
