Narrative

While on a whaling trip in his youth, a whale upset his dory and his leg
was broken. He wore a wooden leg. He was Postmaster of Nantucket and a
member of the Massachusetts Legislature, called the General Court. Lived
in the house at 16 Union Street built by his parents.
