Richard Goode removed from North Carolina to Kentucky about 1802. "He
served in the war of 1812, under Col. Richard M. Johnson, and was present
when Tecumseh fell by the hand of that Kentuckian at the Battle of the
River Thames. He also served one or two terms in the Legislature of
Kentucky, and was the only Whig representative ever sent by Henry County
before the war." He lived near Newcastle, and late in life, in Jefferson
Co., Kentucky, about 20 miles from Louisville, where he died.
