Rosena was born about 1853 in KY.1 Rosena's father was Addison F. Thornton and her mother was Mary A.. Her paternal grandparents were John Thornton(Fairfield) and Sarah Fitzhugh. She had a brother and two sisters, named Addison W., Lucy D. and Mary E.. She was the youngest of the four children.1 General Notes
