Samuel Goode Jones 
Samuel Goode was born on September 20th, 1815. Samuel Goode's father was Thomas W., M.D. Jones and his mother was Mary Armistead Goode. His maternal grandparents were Colonel Samuel, M.C. Goode and Mary Armistead Burwell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John Ravenscroft, Thomas W., Edward Burwell, M.D., Lucy Binns and Mary Armistead. He was the oldest of the six children.General Notes

"Mr. Jones is a highly accomplished and intelligent man," writes a
Florida correspondent. "He was for many years a civil engineer in
Alabama, but is now a resident of Tennessee." He was graduated at
Williams College, Massachussetts.
Thomas W. Jones, No. 254, was the son of John and Lucy Binns Cargill
Jones, and great grandson of "John Jones, Gentleman," of colonial days,
who would appear from family tradition to have been a scion of the Jones
family referred to on page 205, preceding. p. 236, Virginia Cousins
