Smith Alexander Hester 
Smith Alexander was born on August 15th, 1826.1 Smith Alexander's father was Wyatt Wilkerson Hester and his mother was Elizabeth Branch Jones Mathis. His maternal grandparents were Wylie Jones and Jane Thornton Osborne. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Wiley Jones, William Franklin, Robert Fulton, Thomas Benton, James Sherod, Martha Jane, Mary Elizabeth and Sarah Frances. He was the oldest of the nine children.1 -
