Her paternal grandparents were John Chesterfield Goode and Lucy Claiborne; her maternal grandparents were Major Thomas Massie and Lucy Waller. She had three brothers and four sisters, named William Osborne, John Thomas, Edward Branch, Henrietta Wise, Eliza, Juliet Virginia and Lucy Waller.General Notes
