Judge Samuel Watkins was born in 1768 in Mecklenburg Co., Va. Judge Samuel Watkins' father was John Goode and his mother was FNU Watkins. His paternal grandfather was Mackerness Goode. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Son of Samuel, John, Philip, Mackerness, Martha and Ann. He died at the age of 83 in August 1851 in Montgomery, Alabama.General Notes
