James Read Branch 
James Read was born on July 28th, 1828 in Richmond, Virginia.1 James Read's father was Thomas II Branch and his mother was Sarah Pride Read. His paternal grandparents were Thomas I Branch and Mary Patteson. He was an only child. He died at the age of 40 on July 2nd, 1869.1 General Notes
