Amanda Ellen's father was Lafayette Myers and her mother was Laura Ann Slavin. Her maternal grandparents were James B. Slavin and Elizabeth Carrie Midkiff. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Clarence A., Charles Lewis, James Lawrence, Riley Leonard, Samuel, Sally(Sarah), Alva F., Martha (Twin), Mary (Twin), Willie Pearl and Nellie Venice.-
