James Van Gilder

James was born in 1778.¹   James' father was Isaac Van Gilder and his mother was Mary Thompson.  His paternal grandparents were Johannes Van Gilder and Elizabeth Adams. He had three brothers named John, Isaac and Ezekial.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 15 in 1793.¹
