Whiting Smith 
Whiting was born on February 5th, 1774 in Rupert, Bennington, VT.1 Whiting's father was Nathaniel Smith and his mother was Abigail Stevens. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Smith and Sarah McCarter; his maternal grandfather was Peter Stevens. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Theron, Salmon, Cyrus, Joel S, Adam Stephens, Philinda, Asenith, Beaulah and Lucy. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died in Pike, Wyoming, NY.1 -
