Johnathan was born in 1687. Johnathan's father was Isaac Sheldon and his mother was Mehitable Gunn. His paternal grandparents were Ralph Sheldon and Barbara Stone. He had seven half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Isaac, John, Thomas, Ebenezer, Samuel, Joseph, Ebenezer, Mary, Ruth, Thankful, Mindwell, Hannah and Mercy.-
