Joseph was born in 1645 in Rehoboth, Bristol, MA.1 Joseph's father was William Sabin and his mother was Mary Wright. His paternal grandparents were Richard Sabin and Mary Bushe; his maternal grandparents were Richard Wright and Margaret Unknown. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Samuel, Benjamin, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Experience, Mary, Abigail, Hannah, Patience and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the twelve children.-
