His paternal grandfather was John Mitchell; his maternal grandparents were Harry Vye and Agnes Smith. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, William, John, Robert, Mary, Anne, Agnes, Johanna and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 40 on May 22nd, 1591 in Colyton, Devon, England.-
