Margaret was born about 1538 in Cherry Burton, Yorkshire, England. Margaret's father was Robert Lothropp and her mother was Ellen Aston. Her paternal grandparents were John Lowthroppe and Margaret Wade; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Aston and Unknown. She had three brothers named John, Thomas and Lawrence. She died in 1572.-
