Gerard II de Lorraine's father was Gerard de Metz Ct de Metz and his mother was Gisela de Alsace.  His maternal grandfather was Hugh III Ct de Alsace. He had a brother named Adalbert de Lorraine.  He died on April 4th, 1070 in Remiremont, Vosges, France.1
