Benjamin was born on November 6th, 1735 in Voluntown, New London, CT.1 Benjamin's father was Ebenezer Dow and his mother was Martha Harris. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Dow and Susannah Hill; his maternal grandparents were Ebenezer Harris and Rebecca Clark. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Daniel, Nathan, Aaron, Nathan, Ebenezer, Hannah, Mary and Rebecca.-
