Hannah was born in 1762 in Turkey Point, Cumberland, NJ.1 Hannah's father was David Casto and her mother was Phoebe Gandy. Her paternal grandparents were William Casto and Elizabeth Abbott; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Gandy and Unknown Gandy. She had three brothers and four sisters, named David, John Jackson, William, Phoebe, Catherine, Elizabeth and Sarah. She was the third youngest of the eight children.-
