Abel Casto 
Abel was born in 1748 in Deerfield, Cumberland, NJ.1 Abel's father was William Casto and his mother was Purthenia Purple. His paternal grandparents were William Casto and Elizabeth Abbott; his maternal grandfather was John Purple. He had a brother and two sisters, named Azariah, Elizabeth and Lidea. He was the second oldest of the four children. He had nine half-brothers named John, Andrew, David, Jonathan, Jeremiah, William, Jacob, Thomas and Abijah. He died at the age of 78 in 1826 in , Clinton, OH.1 -
