c880-5: by King Alfred's will, bequeathed certain estates in Wessex,
including Aldingbourne and Compton in Sussex and Crondall in Hampshire.

was devised Compton & Crondall by King Alfred the Great [Ref: Weis AR #1B]

892: King Alfred gave him another property "aet North Nivetune on afene"
identified as North Newnton on the river Avon in Wiltshire.

894: one of the three military leaders who immobilized and defeated the
