Obituary, The State paper, Friday, July 28, 2000
Jacob Boland
Saluda -- Services for Jacob (Jake) Cephas Boland, 86, will be held at
2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church with
interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8
this evening at Ramey Funeral Home. The casket will be placed in the
church one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be made to St.
Mark's Lutheran Church, Rt. 5, Box 730, Prosperity.
Mr. Boland died Thursday, July 27, 2000. Born in Pomaria, he was a son
of the ltae Cephas and Lillie Chapman Boland. He was a dairy farmer in
Saluda Co. before retirement, and a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Estelle Killian Boland; son, Jimmie
(Marie) Boland; daughters, Ann (Everette) Bledsoe, Brenda (Wane)
Cockrell, Judy (Dusty) White, all of Saluda; brother, Milton Boland of
Pomaria; sisters, Louise Mattison of Ware Shoals, Inez Hasty of
Charlotte; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Mr. Boland was
preceded in death by brsothers Willie Pat Boland and Roy Boland.
