Janie Mayer

Newberry - Services for Janie Epting Mayer, 86, of 2205 Leland Ave., will
be held at 4 pm. Monday at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, with
burial in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Little Mountain.
Visitation will be 5-7 tonight at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials
may be made to the Newberry Council on Aging or to the Lutheran Church of
the Redeemer.

Mrs. Mayer, widow of Joe W. Mayer, died Friday. Born in Little Mountain,
she was a daughter of the late Jacob Cornelius and Annie Riser Epting.
She was a retired School Lunch Program Dietitian for the Newberry County
Public Schools. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer
and active in the various programs of the Church. She was an active
member of the Newberry County Council on Aging and was a volunteer with
J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home and the Newberry County Memorial Hospital
Chaplain's office.

Surviving are her son, Elmer W. (Sonny) Mayer of Warner Robins, Ga.;
brother, Ralph E. Epting of Little MOuntain; grandchildren, Daniel P.
Mayer, Becky Murray, Juley Bishop, David W. Mayer, Carrey Mayer, Joe
Ward; great-grandchildren, Joey Townes, Robby Bishop, Charley Bishop.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Jane Ward.
