Obituary, The State paper, Sunday, February 20, 2000
Chrissie Koon
Newberry - Services for Chrissie C. Koon, 57, of 1127 Mt. Bethel Gaarmany
Road, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of
Prosperity. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The family is at
her residence and will receive friends at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home
7-8:30 tonight. The funeral home is in charge.
Mrs. Koon died Saturday, February 19, 2000 at Palmetto Richland Memorial
Hospital. Born in Newberry, she was a daughter of Mrs. Ernestine Shealy
Counts and the late David E. Counts. She was a former employee of Faith
Christian School in Laurens and a member of First Baptist Church of
Prosperity where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Surviving are her husband, Carroll L. Koon, of the home; her mother of
Newberry; son, Brent A. Koon of Laurens; daughters, Kristi K. Sprowls of
Greenville, Kandi K. Werts of Prosperity, Tracy K. Williamson of Laurens,
Leighann K. Hendrix of Newberry; sister, Vendy C. Bishop of Myrtle Beach;
brother, Shealy Counts of Newberry, 14 grandchildren.
