1088: took prominent part in rebellion against William Rufus in favor of
Duke Robert, invaded Gloucestershire, and destroyed the town of Berkeley.

1095: participated in Moubray;'s plot to kill Rufus and to place the
Count of Aumale on the throne [Ref: CP V p153]

at Council of Salisbury in Jan 1095/6 he was charged with treason as one
of the conspirators in 1095, and having been vanquished in single combat by
his accuser, was condemned to be blinded and (at the instance of Earl Hugh)
emasculated. Must have died then or soon afterwards [Ref: CP V p153]
