Narrative

Massacred at a "peace conference" the British chieftans.
Took service w/ Vortigern King of Britons vs. the Picts &
Irish.
Conducted Vortigern's defense against Ambrosius Aurelianus,
and/or Arthur.
Asked Vortigern to enlarge his forces to deal with Arthur;
Vortigern assented.
Thus began the "Saxon invasion" of England.
Left his mission to deal w/ Picts & irish near Hadrian's Wall.
This caused Vortigern to abdicate to his son Vortimer.
Hengist refused to heed Vortimer's order that he leave Britain.
Established himself in Kent & fought at least 4 battles with
Arthur over 18 years.
Gained Essex, Middlesex & Sussex aft his massacre of the
British chiefs as Vortigern purchased his life by ceding them.
