It is quite probable that Duke Bodagisel II was not the son of Bodogiesel
I, but hisnephew, the son of a son of Munderic, by his wife Palatina daughter
of Gallus Magnus. Woolf has shown that among the early Franks that a son was
given his father's name is quite rare. However, the name connotes a close
kinswhip as of father and son or uncle and nephew [Ref: Moriarty p241]
