! an Irish gentleman, who had a grant of land on Chickamoxon creek, in Charles county, about thirty miles below the place where the city of Washington now is. ---per Dawson genealogy!The Doyne family was among the Anglican families which settled in
County Wexford, Ireland. Robert and Joshua Doyne, brothers, were
transported to Maryland about 1670, but returned to Ireland and
emigrated in 1680--Joshua Doyne bringing his wife.
