Ardabast was born in Greece.1 Ardabast's father was Athanagild of the Visigoths and his mother was Juliana Flavia. His paternal grandparents were St. and Ingunda de Austrasia; his maternal grandfather was kinsman of Byzantine Emp. He was an only child.-
