Saher de Quincy, b. 1155, d. 3 Nov. 1219, 1st Earl of Winchester , Magna Charta Surety, 1215, Crusader 1219 (son of Robert de Qui ncy, d. ca. 1198, Lord of Buckley and of Fawside, Crusader; m. O rabella, dau. of Ness; and grandson of Maud de St. Liz (148-25 ) by her 2nd husb., Saher de Quincy of Buckley and Daventry.
Saher de Quincy, died 1219, the Magna Carta baron, and his wife , Margaret de Beaumont, had seven children in all, four sons, Ro bert the elder, Roger, Reginald, and Robert the younger, as wel l as three daughters. Hawise, Lora and Orabel. Of these childre n, Reginald is not known to have married. Lora left issue but a s best I can tell her line eventually died out. The other fiv e children all have living descendants.
Saier de Quincy's sons, Robert the elder and Roger, both had dau ghters named Margaret. Saier's other son, Robert the younger, h ad no daughter Margaret but he did have female issue, namely, Jo an, Hawise and Anne. There are living descendants from both Mar garets and from Robert the younger's daughter, Hawise. I descen d from Roger's daughter, Margaret, who married William de Ferrer s, 5th Earl of Derby.
