Lord of Buckley and of Fawside, Crusader [Ref: Weis AR #53]
well proven as brother of Saher II and a son of the elder Saher and
Matilda de St. Liz. in 1188, 1207, and 1218 Robert and Earl Saher were
stated to be father and son. [Ref: Barlow 1958 p63]
appears as a witness to charters of his cousin, William the Lion, King of
Scots, fro the beginning of his reign in 1165 until about 1182. [Ref: Barlow
1958 p63]
Crusader with Richard Coeur de Lion in 1191, but had returned to England
by 1194 when he witnessed a charter at Winchester. [Ref: Barlow 1958 p64]
1194-97: taxes with respect to Buckby were remitted; he paid 22 marks
into the Treasury in 1198 for a writ [Ref: Barlow 1958 p64]
1200: with Saher, his son, Robert attested the foundation charter of
Inchaffray, in Scotland [Ref: Barlow 1958 p64]
died before Michaelmas of 1200, when Saher was recorded as Lord of Buckby.
