Einion was born in 0933 in of Dynevor, Llandyfeisant, Carmarthenshire, Wales.1 Einion's father was Owain ap Hywel Dda and his mother was Angharad verch Llywelyn Queen of Powys. His paternal grandparents were Hywel 'Dda' ap Cadell Prince of Wales and Elen verch Llywarch; his maternal grandfather was Llywelyn Ap Merfyn. He had a brother named Maredudd ap Owain. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 51 in 0984 in Gwent, Monmouthshire, England.1 General Notes
