1 Otto I's father was Henry I the Fowler and his mother was Mechtilde Of Ringleheim. His paternal grandparents were Otto the Illustrious and Hedwig; his maternal grandparents were Dietrich of Ringelheim and Gisela. He had two sisters named Gerberga and Hedwig. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Otto I the Great and Hedwig. He died in Memleben.1 General Notes
